Mental Health

Cedar Hill’s Outpatient Mental Health Program provides on-going treatment after a crisis and can help you avoid a mental health crisis. Our mental health patients can attend group therapy 3-5 days a week with individual therapy available weekly, by appointment. One of our psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners will also be able to help you with your psychiatric medication.

The program is designed for adults living with a mental illness, such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety and PTSD. These are all mental illnesses that can interrupt your daily life. We want to help you get back to living, and living well.

Our mental health program provides:

  • A safe, warm environment for you to share
  • Medication management
  • Education on how to manage your illness
  • Opportunity to help you understand your symptoms with your peers
  • Group therapy classes centered on emotion regulation, seeking safety and mindfulness
  • Supportive therapies such as art & music therapy to help you identify helpful coping strategies that work for you

It can take years to develop the skills to recover from a mental health crisis. Learning to manage your illness is essential in long-term recovery. At the end of the program, you and your family should be able to engage in on-going treatment in a traditional outpatient setting.
